We left Jackson Center OH and the Airstream Factory Service Center today. Lithium batteries are installed and so far they are working well (after a few adjustments this morning by Airstream)! We are at a Harvest Host site and fully relaxed.
Here are the mishaps:
- I wanted to fly the drone to get some arial photos of the Airstream factory to show just how enormous the operation is! Well, not to go into too much detail, but I was just about to launch and two Chatty Cathy types came near me with 42,000 questions. I went ahead and launched and that was my fatal error. It was all on me….I should have never launched. Well, the Cathy’s had more questions and I lost my concentration, looked down and boom ran the drone right into the tree about 60′ up. Of course, now that there was trouble the Cathys took off like they were on fire. I was sick and had to go confess the crash to Carol. The response was that of disappointment, but we both agreed “poopoo” happens. So, for that night I watched the drone give off alerts as it’s battery drained. This morning, Carol thought maybe someone at Airstream would know someone that could retrieve the drone. I was way too embarrassed so Carol handled it. The manager knew a guy that worked for the town, called him and they sent a bucket truck in 20 minutes and the drone was retrieved by the town! They were happy to help! The drone survived with zero damage!
- So, the above was really bad for me, heavy anxiety but there is more to last nights story! Finally I decided to stop looking at the flashing lights of the drone and get ready for bed. I went to retrieve by PJs from the behind my pillow and they were gone. Anyone that knows Carol knows she likes to organize, so my first reaction was to question her about where she put my PJs. She said they were behind the pillow, I said they were gone. We searched and searched, I still believed she moved them, she insisted she didn’t. We were now, even more irritated, the drone is in a tree flashing and my PJs were missing! So, we went to bed irritated, we even wondered if someone working on the Airstream took my PJs as some sick joke! In the morning, we looked again….no luck. The Airstream technician came to make the adjustments on the battery install and he said he had to raise the bed again to get to the electrical connections! We looked at one another and when the bed was raised up, my PJs were under the mattress! LOL
