Paria Canyon & Zebra Slot Canyon!

Before leaving the Lake Powell area we explored Paria Canyon about 40 miles west. This area has some of the most beautiful colors of anywhere we have been. The day we were there, we were the only ones for the entire day! We flew the drone several times…so much fun! We then left Lake Powell and traveled with the Airstream to Escalante. The Monterey Bay Aquarium! WOW!

Last week we showed you our exploration of Big Sur, Monterey and Pinnacles National Park; but we kept one or our adventures for a video of it’s own…Monterey Bay Aquarium.  Monterey Bay itself is protected water from Santa Cruz to Big Sur and the Aquarium has captured the essence of this very special place. There is an actual Kelp Forest, Sea Otters, Penguins and so many other wonderful exhibits. Our favorites were “The Jellies”! Hickman Bridge Trail, Capitol Reef NP

After leaving Escalante we headed to Hanksville UT about 35 miles from Capitol Reef National Park.  Capitol Reef is a great park and is just a little bit less crowded than the other big parks of Bryce, Zion, Arches, and Canyonlands.  This trip, we found the park to be less crowded and very pleasant so we were able to hike this cool trail; Hickman Bridge.  The trail is 2.4 miles long with an elevation gain of 733ft; this trail is listed as moderate.  The entire hike was beautiful and the “Hickman Bridge” is a 133’ long, 125’ long arch named…

Happy Thanksgiving!

Today we are giving thanks for so many things!  We are thankful for being able to travel as we have planned for years, we are thankful for finding one another and we are thankful for our good health; just to name a few.  This morning we reinforced all of the above as we did 2 short hikes to appreciate the gift in nature.   Most of all, we are thankful for our friends and family!   PS.
