Today we took an online art class taught by an urban sketcher that we both like. We were most definitely outside of our comfort zone because this artist is a bit more loose and whimsical than Carol and I. In 2014 Carol and I rafted 8 days and 277 miles of the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. We fell in love with the Grand Canyon and the Southwest. The Escalante area is amazing with forests, deserts, slot canyons and incredible rock formations. We visited Devil’s Garden and were we surprised at the beauty. I just noticed that many cool areas have the word “Devil” in their names. Many years ago, as a child my Aunt and Uncle drove from Bloomington, IL on Route 66 west with the destination of the Grand Canyon. On the journey one of their planned stops was the Petrified Forest.
