Kimball Art Center, Watercolor Class

Today we beat the heat by attending an in person class at the Kimball Art Center in Park City, Utah.  (Park City was the venue of the 2002 Winter Olympics.) Hell’s Backbone Loop

Earlier this week we traveled to Escalante, Utah.  When we left Lake Powell the temperature was about 82 degrees, half way to Escalante the temperature dropped and we were engulfed in a snow storm!  36 degrees with snow thunder.  RVs were pulled off the road and there was about 3” of ice and slush.  We also pulled off the road, but decided to drive out of the mess.  Within 10 minutes we were back in sun and by the time we got to Escalante the temps were back at 80 degrees! Ghost Ranch, Georgia O’Keeffe

Over the past week we have been all over New Mexico!  We have so many places to feature on our site!  Earlier in the week we took a horseback ride through Ghost Ranch, the home of American artist Georgia O’Keeffe.  Georgia O’Keeffe maintained two homes in Norhtern New Mexico and one was on the edge of Ghost Ranch; she purchased the land in 1940.  The greater ranch was operated as a “dude ranch” at the time, but now the ranch is owned by the Presbyterian church and is an educational retreat.  Our ride through the ranch passed many of the…
