Capitol Reef National Park

It has been a busy and beautiful couple of days!  On Tuesday 9/22 we left Green River State Park and drove to Hanksville UT and stayed at Duke's Slickrock RV Park that was centered between Capitol Reef NP and Goblins Valley State Park.  Capitol Reef - This park is the least visited of the 5 Utah national parks.  There is no lodge and very few hotels in the area. Capitol Reef became a national monument in 1937 and a national park in 1971.  The populated area of the park is named Fruita Historic District and includes the Petroglyph Panel, Visitor Center…

Milestone! On the road one month!

Today is a milestone...We have been on this journey for 1 whole month!   We are in Hanksville, UT between Goblins State Park and Capitol Reef National Park.  Needless to say, wireless service is very limited, so we are not able to upload a bunch of pictures!   We went off road again to see Capitol Gorge...it was amazing and the colors are so vibrant!  Tomorrow we will be in the national park hiking and exploring.  Stay tuned....

Weekend in Aspen; What’s Next?

Saturday we left the Airstream in Green River UT and headed to Aspen CO for my retirement celebration.  We arrived about lunchtime at the Hotel Jerome.  We checked in and had a fabulous lunch at J Bar.  We later walked around the town of Aspen and had dinner at Wild Fig.  Sunday morning we rode the gondola to the top of Aspen Mountain. The views were incredible!  We then drove up to Independence Pass.  Just barely out of town, Carol spotted 5 Moose just off the road; 4 were lying down and one was standing.  It was amazing to see!…
