The beauty of the last few days is unimaginable. We have made a base at Green River State Park. Thursday we spent at Arches NP, Canyonlands NP and Dead Horse Point SP. Arches is amazing and photos just can’t capture the vast size and colors of the landscape! We had high hopes to hike to “Delicate Arch” but it was so crowded, COVID-19 precaution won and we passed. Many of the Arches are named by the park service or others, but we created some pretty unique names “old lady in chaise lounge”, “turtles kissing” and some that I better not mention! We were all dialed in on driving Shafer Trail in Canyonlands, then we saw it from above! As much as we love adventure we both felt we had to pass…holy cow, some parts of the dirt road follows the edge of the cliff with a 1000’ drop!
Dead Horse and Canyonlands (Island in the Sky) resembled the topography of the Grand Canyon but not as deep…breathtaking. We did hike to Mesa Arch at sunset (featured picture).
Yesterday was a housekeeping day…Truck inside/out and Airstream inside/out. Everything was covered in red dirt/dust. We had to empty the truck cab and bed! We started at 9am and finished at 5pm…oh, we also did laundry!
Today we are heading to Aspen for the day to see the fall colors (without Airstream).
Great pictures! Glad you are circling back to CO to see the Aspens, know that was high on your list.
The aspens were just starting to turn, but they are so beautiful!
