Review, L’Auberge de Sedona

We have spent the last 2 days at L’Auberge de Sedona for our anniversary. https://www.lauberge.com/

This is a sister hotel to the Hotel Jerome in Aspen where we stayed last month.  As you drive up to the reception area there isn’t much to see, it seems rather bland but that is so misleading!  Once at reception we could see the outside dining at that point we knew we were in for a very memorable couple days.  We were upgraded to a Garden Cottage (complements of AMEX Platinum Fine Hotels) and directions given.  When we arrived at “Cottage 12” we looked at one another…it seemed as though it was a “house”!  We had a beautiful deck, with easy chairs as well as and area for outside dining. Once inside it was like walking into a finely designed home!  We truly did not know what to expect and boy were we surprised.  Every detail from the king sized bed to the fireplace was perfect.  (Refer to pictures).  Then we looked on the table and there was a bottle of Champagne on ice with a note from the manager wishing us a Happy Anniversary!

After taking in the well appointed accommodations we walked around the grounds.  This resort sits on Oak Creek in Sedona with many areas taking advantage of the creek ambiance.  We walked out on some red rocks that abutted the creek and we saw a tiny sign…then a photographer came up to us about the tiny sign…that area was reserved for an a guy to propose there in about 10 minutes!  We scooted out of that area!  Next we visited the outside dining area that was on a deck right on the creek!  Again, we had no idea we would be having dinner is such a cool setting.

Our anniversary dinner was truly an event.  A 7 course Prix Fixe menu.  All I can say after 2 hours of eating, we were completely satisfied; every course was delicious. Our table just a couple feet from the rushing creek and each table had a heater that made the experience comfortable for outdoor dining.

Each morning breakfast was served creekside.

The resort has a wellness spa, fitness center and swimming pool on site.  Fly fishing is offered right in Oak Creek!  The property has lodge rooms, each with a balcony, Garden Cottages, Creekside Cottages, Vista Cottages and Spa Cottages. For a special occasion or if you just want to be pampered we highly recommend L’Auberge.

PS. Later today we will be back at our Airstream!

Looks like you all did it up right. Never stayed here, but wish I had! Sedona’s such a pretty place – and so many great hikes, but sounds like you opted for two days of pampering in a top notch place – nice alternative. Happy Anniversary!
