Arrived, Borrego Springs, CA

We have arrived in Borrego Springs, California!  Borrego Springs is a small desert town between San Diego and Palm Springs.  We are a minimum of at least 30 minutes from the next town.  Borrego Springs sits in the center of Anzo-Borrego Desert State Park.   Borrego Springs has one of the lowest COVID rates in California and for that we are glad!The center of the town is Christmas Circle, a large traffic circle.   Every Friday there is a small farmers market in the circle consisting of fresh vegetables, crafts and homemade foods.  Last Friday we rode our bikes to…

Lake Havasu Area, AZ

Buckskin Mountain State Park, Bill Williams River Wildlife Refuge and Lake Havasu City! Our last stop in Arizona was Buckskin Mountain State Park about 20 miles South of Lake Havasu City.  Buckskin Mountain SP sits on the Colorado River and it is a very different river than what flows through the Grand Canyon!  The river is flat with zero rapids! The state park is small, but we really enjoyed it; given we felt we had the best site in the park! Alamo Lake State Park

When we left Organ Pipe National Monument we headed to Alamo Lake State Park.  The park features a 26 sq. mile lake, wild burros and many, many quail!   The road to the park is over 30 miles from the main road!  There are lots of exploring opportunities at this park and you are able to get off the beaten path on dirt roads through BLM land.  We were able to fly the drone on some dirt roads to get shots of the lake.   We saw our first wild burros on the road from the visitor center!  The burros…
