The Wind Caves are in the Carrizo Badlands on the far east side of the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. To access this area you travel on Fish Creek Road, a sand/rock passage about 4 miles. Wind caves are sandstone formations with wind-eroded pockets! There is a hike to the wind caves, one that is well hidden and it took a few hours to find it! Yesterday we ventured out to find “Salvation Mountain” on the southern end of the Salton Sea. We drove about an hour and a half to the wrong location, Bombay Beach because the GPS was wrong! Now you are most likely thinking, Bombay Beach sounds nice, fun....nope; it was dismal, extremely depressed with spray painted abandoned RVs and mobile homes! Milestone: 5 months on the road as of yesterday! We have been to the “Mud Caves” twice so far! From the main road there is an 8 mile round trip dirt/sand road that requires 4WD. We had over an hour of video and hundreds of pictures. New Artwork, Winter in the Mountains

We have been editing a great video of a trip to the “Mud Caves”. We had over an hour of footage along with photos. We hope to have it completed tonight or early tomorrow. Meantime, here is a watercolor of a winter scene, one that we do not see in Southern California!Stand by!
