The Wind Caves are in the Carrizo Badlands on the far east side of the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. To access this area you travel on Fish Creek Road, a sand/rock passage about 4 miles.
Wind caves are sandstone formations with wind-eroded pockets! There is a hike to the wind caves, one that is well hidden and it took a few hours to find it! We had to fly the drone to understand how to get to the trail! Needless to say, it was too late to start the hike but we saw the caves from the air and the aid of a zoom lens! Enjoy the video!
Now for the update!
1. Yesterday our condo in Richmond went on the market and by sundown we had a full price contract! So our “California Dreaming” is ending tomorrow and we will be starting our trek back to Richmond to finish packing up the condo.
2. About 2 weeks ago we decided we love traveling the country. We have decided to extend our trip beyond a year….we plan to travel for 2-3 years! With that decision, we have ordered a larger Airstream (25’ Flying Cloud)! We love our Airstream now and we will continue our journey in it until September when the new one arrives. We just need a bit more storage and a full size bedroom. Exciting times!
Don’t dismay, our trek to Richmond includes a trip to Big Bend National Park and more adventures!
Sorry to have to interrupt your trip and have you head back to RVA but it’s for a good cause! Take your time as you have plenty of time.
