Welcome from Ridgway, CO! We are back in Colorado after a 2 day trip to Moab, UT to visit Arches National Park.
We had an amazing two days of hiking to stunning arches and vistas. Arches National Park has more than 2,000 natural sandstone arches! The park is located 4 miles north of Moab and consists of 76,680 acres. While there the temperature was about 97 during the day. Together we toured the following arches:
- North Arch
- South Arch
- Turret Arch
- Pine Arch
- Tunnel Arch
- Landscape Arch
- Double Arch
Carol, Atom and Susan hiked to Delicate Arch but I declined due to the elevation and heat. (I washed the truck!) The hike to Delicate Arch is advertised as “moderate” but most people that completed the hike that day clearly stated it was difficult. The hike traverses slick rock, tight ledges and is totally exposed to the sun. So…not bad for 3 gals in their 60’s!
We also went to Canyonlands National Park at sunset to experience Mesa Arch. It was breathtaking at that time of day.
Travel Update:
Over the past 4 days we have been in Ridgway, CO. We have visited Telluride, Ouray, drove the Million Dollar Highway to Silverton. The past two days we have had rain and it has curtailed some of our activities…but for Carol and I it has allowed us to get caught up on video production!
Tomorrow we head to Mesa Verde National Park and Durango with no rain in sight!
Enjoy the video!!!!!
Wow is all I kept saying to myself while watching the video, you all are daredevils in my mind…such beauty in the rocks and formations… My mind kept wandering too’ how did they form those arches, formations and how long to get to this point of wear … now i have something other than TV to research this evening .. Way kool.. nice vid too Rock On…LOL
Such an incredible area….loved every minute!
Love the video! Some incredible photo shots.
Thanks! So special….an incredible 2 days!
You go girls! You must have some awesome cardiovascular systems and strong legs!
Well, Carol, Susan and Atom hiked the Delicate, not me…too hot and too steep! Not bad for late 60’s! 😉
Where are you camped at Ridgeway? Do you have favorite apps for campsite research and selection? I think you two are much more hardcore than us two picky campers, but I’d love to hear from the masters. Next summer hope to get into Colorado via New Mexico. Already have two locations scoped out, but we need more.
That leads to my next question. When towing how long do you plan your drives? I’m thinking 6 to 7 hours max, but again we bow to your power.
Just great girls!! Looks like so much fun!
So fun!!!!!
