Two Days in Sequoia National Park!

After leaving the California Coast we headed East to Sequoia National Park. The park suffered last year from the KNP Complex Fire and many areas were closed for months. The firefighters actually wrapped General Sherman and many other sequoias with aluminum fire resistant blankets to protect them from the fires. As many as 2,300 giant sequoias burned to death or are expected to die as a result from the fire. This fire was caused by a severe lightning storm.
