Our First Grizzly & Johnston Canyon Hike!

We left Glacier National Park for a destination of Banff National Park, Alberta Canada. We completed our ArriveCAN app and were ready for the border! The border crossing was a non-event and we were so glad, having heard stories of being detained for searches.

We drove through a section of Canada that seemed to be a high plateau area, no mountains in site. Once we got onto Route 1 we could start to see the Canadian Rockies in the distance. What a site. We continued to Tunnel Mountain Campground that would be our home for 2 weeks!

Our first adventure was an early morning hike at Johnston Canyon, a very popular area in Banff…so we hit the road at 6:30am. While driving, right on the side of the road, we saw our first Grizzly Bear! He was eating Buffalo Berries along the road and gave a pretty good show that we were able to capture! What a treat!

We arrived at Johnstone canyon about 8:00am and there were plenty of parking spaces left. So glad we arrived early….by 11:00am the crowds had grown and the parking lot was full!

ENJOY THE VIDEO!

Travel Update:

We are still enjoying Canada with Debbie and Joni!

We enjoyed this video very much the falls were nice, the bear- well yikes be careful but still Kool to see albeit from a distance.

We watched the video on the big screen in our home” realized your vids are on you tube and the TV has you tube, so what the heck watch on the big tv, instead of computer.
Kelly said I should write down all your stops and campgrounds…so I am now going back and recording the sites for our start in 2023 of retirement.

Keep these coming along as there great fun to see’ your adventures.

So sorry for the delay in my response… Glad you subscribed to our YouTube channel and are watching on the big screen! I think Colleen may be able to send you a list of where we stayed. We should be doing reviews of the campgrounds, some are better than others. I’ll see if she can send something and you can read the reviews on them.
