After an adventure filled month in the Canadian Rockies we headed South to Kalispell MT. On the way we stopped in Ft. Steele overnight and the next day visited the Kootenay Fish Hatchery and saw some amazing rainbow trout.
While in Kalispell we got up at 5am and drove into Glacier National Park to hike the Highline Trail. We arrived at 7am at Logan Pass and the parking lot was full except for just a couple parking spots…we got one!
The Highline Trail is a scenic trail in Glacier National Park. The trail stretches 7.6 miles to Granite Park Chalet. We only hiked 2 miles because the trail was so crowded (4 miles round-trip). This trail is amazing as you walk on a ledge and in some areas it is only 3-4’ wide! The park service has added a cable for hikers to hang onto if needed! We loved this trail, if you want to hike it, you need to get to the parking lot no later than 7am!
Next week we head to Wyoming and South Dakota!
