Drive the Scenic Highway 97 to Dawson Creek: Stunning Waterfalls, Wildlife and Chainsaw Art!

This week we continue our trek heading north from McLure, BC to Dawson Creek, the start of the AlCan Highway…mile 0!

First stop, Wells Gray Provincial Park with over 40 waterfalls. We went to four waterfalls and experienced more mosquitoes than we could have ever imagined 😳! We spent the entire day exploring waterfalls: Dawson, Helmcken, Spahats Creek and Third Canyon Waterfalls!

Next, Quesnel, BC and we stayed at the Downtown RV Park right on the river….we then moved north with a stop at Crooked Creek Provincial Park…a really nice park on a lake…only issue more mosquitoes!

We continued up Highway 97 with our next stop Chetwynd were we saw the International Chainsaw Carving event! Having never witnessed chainsaw carving this was a really fun event.

We woke up to SMOKE from the Canadian wildfires and headed out to our final destination this week, Dawson Creek..Mile 0 of the Alaska Highway!

Enjoy the video!

Travel update:

We continue our adventure on the Alaska Highway and will soon be entering into the Yukon Territory!  Coming up, Summit Lake, Muncho Lake and the famous Laird River Hot Spring…Stay Tuned!

Wow Beautiful waterfalls and amazing carvings! And don’t you know that some say the mosquito is the state bird of Alaska? Haha! Guess you were close enough! Great video as usual!
