Happy Labor Day Weekend!
This is a short video about a tour we took of a Musk Ox Farm in Palmer, AK.
The Musk Ox is a fascinating animal that is native to the Arctic regions. It is known for its unique appearance and impressive adaptations to survive in harsh, cold environments. Musk Oxen have a thick, shaggy coat that helps them stay warm in freezing temperatures. Interestingly, their fur can reach the ground, providing insulation for their entire body. These majestic creatures also have a strong, muscular build and powerful horns, which they use for defense against predators. Despite their tough exterior, Musk Oxen are herbivores and primarily feed on grasses, sedges, and other plants. They are social animals that live in herds, and their strong sense of community helps protect them from threats. Overall, the Musk Ox is a remarkable species that showcases the wonders of nature’s adaptations to extreme conditions.
Their fur is 8 times more warm than sheep wool and is so soft!
