This video we take you on an off road journey on the Smith Dorrien Trail also known as Highway 742 outside of Canmore, Alberta, Canada.This rural drive is remote and has some spectacular scenery! We spent time at Spray Lake saw big horn sheep, a bear and an eagle! We had read about Mount Engadine Lodge and were determined to find it.What a treat….If ever in this area, Mount Engadine Lodge is a remote getaway in the Canadian Rockies. August 22nd was our 2 year anniversary! Yes, 2 years on the road…we can’t believe it! Today’s video we take the Banff Sunshine Gondola to hike Sunshine Meadows and see 3 alpine lakes! This was one of our favorite hikes with the views and mountain flowers. We left Glacier National Park for a destination of Banff National Park, Alberta Canada. We completed our ArriveCAN app and were ready for the border! The border crossing was a non-event and we were so glad, having heard stories of being detained for searches.We drove through a section of Canada that seemed to be a high plateau area, no mountains in site. We spent two weeks in Glacier National Park. The first week we stayed in Hungry Horse just outside of the west entrance of the park. One of the main attractions of Glacier is “Going to the Sun” Road. Going to the Sun Road goes from the Apgar West entrance to the St. Mary East entrance. We drove and explored the West side of Going to the Sun up to Logan Pass while we were staying on the West side.After a week, we moved to the East Side around the southern edge of the national park….about a 95 mile trip.
