Two Days in Rocky Mountain N.P.

The wait is over!  Atom & Susan arrived Thursday afternoon!   It is so nice to have our friends with us for a portion of this journey.  We are in Estes Park and have had a delightful few days.  We explored Boulder, toured and hiked in the national park and enjoyed a wine tasting yesterday afternoon.   We have encountered a variety of weather, yesterday after visiting the Alpine Visitor Center (approx. 12,000 feet of elevation) there was sleet and hail and the temps dropped to 48.   We have a little compound at our campground! The mountains of Grand Teton National park are so inspiring.  This is a watercolor of one of our rides through the park.   Travel Update: We left the Grand Lake area on Monday and have been in Lakewood CO, west of Denver.  While here we visited one of my old friends from college years.  We were lifeguards together at Coonskin Park in Charleston WV during late 70’s. Several Moose have walked by our Airstream windows!  We have set up a trail camera at…

Yellowstone National Park, so majestic!

The park is 3500 sq. miles of wilderness atop a volcanic hot spot.  The park features canyons, alpine rivers, forests, hot springs and geysers.  The most famous geyser, Old Faithful that got it’s name because it blows approx. every 90 minutes and…
