Epic Adventures 4×4, Hell’s Revenge

Several weeks ago, we booked a 4x4 Sunset tour of Hell’s Revenge with Epic 4x4 Adventures. While in Moab the temperatures were extremely high, 109-111!  We were tempted to leave and head North except that we had these reservations with Epic.  Our tour was from 6pm-9:30pm on a 4x4 trail called, Hell’s Revenge.  Hell’s Revenge is in the Sand Flats Recreation Area and is listed as a difficulty 6 of 1-10.  Our training was on a 4x4 trail “Fins & Things”  We had a guide, Jason and there were 3 buggies in our group.  Carol and I were in Buggie…

Hickman Bridge Trail, Capitol Reef NP

After leaving Escalante we headed to Hanksville UT about 35 miles from Capitol Reef National Park.  Capitol Reef is a great park and is just a little bit less crowded than the other big parks of Bryce, Zion, Arches, and Canyonlands.  This trip, we found the park to be less crowded and very pleasant so we were able to hike this cool trail; Hickman Bridge.  The trail is 2.4 miles long with an elevation gain of 733ft; this trail is listed as moderate.  The entire hike was beautiful and the “Hickman Bridge” is a 133’ long, 125’ long arch named…

Bryce UTV Adventure!

What a day of fun!  There is nothing like spending the day off the beaten path!  We spent the day exploring Dixie National Forest on the edge of  Bryce Canyon National Park on a UTV.  We knew that there were ATV/UTV trails, but had no idea there is an entire road system with numbers and junctions….duh….makes sense.  We traveled on the Paunsaugunt Plateau Trail System.  We rented the UTV from Bryce Wildlife Outfitters and we highly recommend them; they were informative, supplied well marked maps and explained the area in detail.  Our first stop was Bristlecone Point.  The term Bristlecone covers 3…
