Big Bend National Park, Texas

After 3 days on the road we finally arrived at Big Bend.  The final 30 miles were very hairy, no map showed us that there was an 18% grade on the route from Presidio to Lajitas! The Tundra got us up the grade with the Airstream but it is nothing we would want to do again!   We stayed in Terlingua in the heart of the desert at Road Runner Travelers, a new RV campground.   Our first full day we drove the Maverick Road, a dirt road that took us to Santa Elena Canyon that had a hike up…

Wind Caves and Updates

The Wind Caves are in the Carrizo Badlands on the far east side of the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park.  To access this area you travel on Fish Creek Road, a sand/rock passage about 4 miles. Arroyo Tapiado Mud Caves

Milestone: 5 months on the road as of yesterday! We have been to the “Mud Caves” twice so far!  From the main road there is an 8 mile round trip dirt/sand road that requires 4WD.  We had over an hour of video and hundreds of pictures.  We have made a 5:33 minute video....In one of the “cave” sections of the video you may see something run by on the bottom right....we did not notice this until we were going through the videos!  WTH! **Make sure the video is on HD! One of the most fascinating points of interest in the…
