When we left Organ Pipe National Monument we headed to Alamo Lake State Park. The park features a 26 sq. mile lake, wild burros and many, many quail! The road to the park is over 30 miles from the main road! There are lots of exploring opportunities at this park and you are able to get off the beaten path on dirt roads through BLM land. Over the last 2 days we have been at Organ Pipe National Monument. The feature picture is an organ pipe cactus. The park is located just 5 miles from the Mexican boarder. The campground is very nice but no hookups. That is fine for us, we are self contained and have solar panels to keep our batteries charged. Yesterday we hiked the Victorian Mine Trail a 4.9 mile hike through the Sonoran Desert with an abandoned silver mine at the 2.5 miles in. Our highlight of wildlife, a javelina walked through our campsite and our trail camera captured it!…
