Bryce Canyon National Park never disappoints! Five years ago we visited Bryce and experienced the Canyon via horseback. This visit, we experienced the canyon on foot; WOW! Walking in the canyon among the hoodoos and colors is simply spectacular. Goblin Valley was founded in the 1920's by cowboys searching for an alternative route between Green River and Cainsville. They came to a vantage point that overlooked the valley and were awed by the view of 5 buttes and a valley of strange shaped rock formations surrounded by a wall of cliffs. It has been a busy and beautiful couple of days! On Tuesday 9/22 we left Green River State Park and drove to Hanksville UT and stayed at Duke's Slickrock RV Park that was centered between Capitol Reef NP and Goblins Valley State Park. Capitol Reef - This park is the least visited of the 5 Utah national parks. There is no lodge and very few hotels in the area. Capitol Reef became a national monument in 1937 and a national park in 1971. The populated area of the park is named Fruita Historic District and includes the Petroglyph Panel, Visitor Center…

Milestone! On the road one month!

Today is a milestone...We have been on this journey for 1 whole month! We are in Hanksville, UT between Goblins State Park and Capitol Reef National Park. Needless to say, wireless service is very limited, so we are not able to upload a bunch of pictures! We went off road again to see Capitol Gorge...it was amazing and the colors are so vibrant! Tomorrow we will be in the national park hiking and exploring. Stay tuned....
