* This video was filmed in mid-August While in the Canadian Rockies our first stop in Banff was Tunnel Mountain Campground. In this video we give you a tour of our sights in and near Banff. We show you the town, farmers market, the bow river/falls and several lakes! Also the town is home to the Banff Springs Fairmont Hotel, a really special place. This video we take you on an off road journey on the Smith Dorrien Trail also known as Highway 742 outside of Canmore, Alberta, Canada.This rural drive is remote and has some spectacular scenery! We spent time at Spray Lake saw big horn sheep, a bear and an eagle! We had read about Mount Engadine Lodge and were determined to find it.What a treat….If ever in this area, Mount Engadine Lodge is a remote getaway in the Canadian Rockies. August 22nd was our 2 year anniversary! Yes, 2 years on the road…we can’t believe it! Today’s video we take the Banff Sunshine Gondola to hike Sunshine Meadows and see 3 alpine lakes! This was one of our favorite hikes with the views and mountain flowers. We left Glacier National Park for a destination of Banff National Park, Alberta Canada. We completed our ArriveCAN app and were ready for the border! The border crossing was a non-event and we were so glad, having heard stories of being detained for searches.We drove through a section of Canada that seemed to be a high plateau area, no mountains in site. Once we got onto Route 1 we could start to see the Canadian Rockies in the distance. What a site.
