California Condors, Wow!

On Friday we drove a 40 mile dirt road near Kanab, UT and came across a California Condor viewpoint.  While there we met a guy that works for the Peregrine Fund, saving the California Condors.  While there we did see them on the cliffs, but they were really far away.  Our new friend said that we needed to go to the Navajo Bridge in the morning to see them up close. So, today we drove early to the Navajo Bridge...holy cow...the condors were everywhere!  The California Condor is one of the rarest birds in the world. Las Vegas Chores

Today we departed Las Vegas after being there since Sunday Afternoon.  We stayed west of Las Vegas at Red Rock Canyon. Our visit to Las Vegas was not for gambling, shows or all night parties!  We had an appointment Monday at Airstream of Las Vegas to have some warranty work done; failing water pump, a broken deadbolt door lock and a routine tire rotation.  We were very impressed with this Airstream dealer, all issues were done in one day as promised! Tuesday we had an appointment with Dave Wilson Toyota to have 20K service done on the Tundra; again a…

Zion National Park

We spent 2 days exploring Zion National Park.  We started at the East Entrance and worked our way to the West Entrance near the Visitor Center.  The drive from the East is a thriller, winding roads, a plethora of colors and a mile long tunnel!  Carol had read that there are Big Horn Sheep, but they were very shy and rarely seen, well that created a major challenge to find them.  We stopped at every pull off to use binoculars to find the sheep (Carol looked through the binoculars so long she had motion sickness)! After searching for a several…

Bryce Canyon Hike

Bryce Canyon National Park never disappoints!  Five years ago we visited Bryce and experienced the Canyon via horseback.  This visit, we experienced the canyon on foot; WOW!  Walking in the canyon among the hoodoos and colors is simply spectacular. The featured picture is near the end of the hike on the Navajo Loop and from the bottom looking up it was a CRAZY sight and a CRAZY climb!  Every turn in this canyon is like a fantasy land with tunnels, tight walls, beautiful shapes. The Queen’s Garden trail begins at the rim and descends about 320’ to the famous Queen…
