Fourth generation winemaker Dario Sattui built an authentically styled 14th century Tuscan castle winery to honor his Italian heritage and deep love for medieval architecture.But it all started with wine.Dario is the great grandson of Vittorio Sattui, an Italian immigrant who founded St. Helena Wine Cellars in 1885. The Sattui family lived at the winery, even after Prohibition closed the business in 1920.Dario returned to the U.S. in 1972, with plans to re-open the family winery that had been dormant for more than 50 years. Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

We spent the entire day washing and waxing the Airstream.  We wash the Airstream at least once a month but the chore of both washing and waxing is an all day affair!  Link to video below!Happy Memorial Day Weekend!Travel Update:We have so enjoyed the last few weeks in Eastern and Central Oregon.  We have a lot of adventures to share in the coming weeks!We will be spending the month of June on Vancouver Island…some of our time will be spent with friends from Borrego Springs!

Moab: 3 new & exciting adventures!

One our way North, after Canyonlands we made a quick stop in Moab; one of our favorite places!  Our adventure starts in Hunter Canyon on Kane Springs Creek Road searching for a Disk Golf Course!  We never found the Disk Golf but we found a spectacular off-road experience!  The canyon was beautiful and unexpected….we spent the day  exploring this fascinating area.That evening we tent camped at a special spot with unmatched views.  Next: Arches National Park for 2 new hikes, Sand Dune Arch and Broken Arch.  We love Moab and intend to return in the fall!Enjoy the Video!Travel Update:We are…

Chimney Rock Trail Adventure: Capitol Reef National Park

This week we hike to Chimney Rock in Capitol Reef National Park.Chimney Rock towers 300 feet above the highway. This is a 3.6 mile hike and is rated strenuous. This trail ascends on an easy grade for about a quarter of a mile then it climbs steep switchbacks. The views along the way are amazing! The trail continues to ascend on moderately steep grades until it reaches the top of the mesa where We enjoyed stunning views of Chimney Rock with snow capped mountains in the distance.Capitol Reef’s Waterpocket Fold is the defining geologic feature of this majestic national park.…
