The Amazing White Pocket!

We took a tour via a Polaris 4x4 29 miles to the incredible White Pocket in Vermilion Cliffs National Monument. This was such a fun trip through beautiful landscapes.  We debated whether we could do this trip with our F250 Truck….so glad we did a tour instead!Once at White Pocket the sights were like no other….white-capped rock formations found in a very remote area deep in the Vermilion Cliff Wilderness.  We hiked the area for about 2 hours, flew the drone and explored the entire White Pocket area!  Words, photos and video can’t capture the beauty of this area.Our tour…

Red Rock Canyon & Valley of Fire, all near Las Vegas!

Our travels continue and this week we made a stop just outside of Las Vegas at Red Rock Canyon. We camped at Red Rock Canyon Campground just a mile from Red Rock Canyon.  While in the Vegas area we experienced a lot of wind…one day gusts up to 50mph! Red Rock Canyon is an amazing area just 17 miles from the Vegas Strip!   We also explored Valley of Fire State Park about an hour from Las Vegas…a beautiful, jaw dropping state park. Alabama Hills! And a near mishap with the Airstream!

After Yosemite we headed to the Alabama Hills in Lone Pine, CA! We had reservations at the Whitney Portal Campground. Well, that’s all I am going to say about that…you will have to watch the video for the full story!  The Alabama Hills is located near Lone Pine, CA and sits at the base of Mt. Yosemite in the spring! And a water rescue!

To beat the crowds we visited Yosemite National Park this spring. We were pleasantly surprised to see rushing waterfalls, spring flowers and very pleasant temperatures!There were some roads closed from winter and the Mariposa Grove was closed due to an unexpected storm in January that produced 70-100mph winds. With that storm, the park lost 25 mature giant sequoias! The storm damaged trails, boardwalks and other facilities in the Mariposa Grove area. The park is still cleaning up from that wind event.El Capitan draws rock climbers so bold to climb a 3000’ granite wall and many even sleep in climbing tents…
