Some history of Ottawa, IL.

Today marks our first completed week of our adventure.  During this week, we had some obligations as well as some fine tuning of some logistics.  We spent Thursday and Friday in Ottawa, Il.  The main reason to visit Ottawa, IL was to deliver my mother’s ashes to be buried next to my father in Oakwood Memorial Park.  It was sad, but we felt good having completed my mother’s wishes.  Also while in Ottawa, we toured the town and I gave Carol a history lesson of the good and the bad.  So many of the places I loved as a child,…

Finally back on the road; after a couple mishaps!

We left Jackson Center OH and the Airstream Factory Service Center today.  Lithium batteries are installed and so far they are working well (after a few adjustments this morning by Airstream)!  We are at a Harvest Host site and fully relaxed.  Here are the mishaps:I wanted to fly the drone to get some arial photos of the Airstream factory to show just how enormous the operation is!  Well, not to go into too much detail, but I was just about to launch and two Chatty Cathy types came near me with 42,000 questions.  I went ahead and launched and that…

Ready to Launch!

Saturday, August 22nd we will be starting our year long trip!  We have been planning this adventure for several years.  Over the last 9 months we have been executing the steps to make this adventure come true.December 20th - Purchased our Airstream at Colonial Airstream. Caravel 20FBJanuary 6th - Purchased our Toyota Tundra.February 27th - Traveled to New Jersey to pick up our Airstream from Colonial.March, April, May, June, July - Covid-19!August - Sold last rental property, retired!
