Welcome to Texas! After our day in Prison outside of Knoxville TN we decided to head west sooner than later. It took 3 days to arrive in Texas. We are Caprock State Park in Quitaque TX. This park has free roaming bison that are direct descendants of the original free roaming bison herd. At one time there were as many as 30-60 million bison free roaming the plains until the “great slaughter” where professional hide hunters killed off so many bison the the herd was down to less than 1000! We spent 5 days in the Brunswick GA area. We visited Fort Frederica National Monument, St. Simon Island and Jekyll Island. Our campground was at Blythe Regional Park. Fort Frederica Three years after founding Georgia in 1733, Gen. James Edward Oglethorpe established Fort Frederica to defend the fledgling colony against Spanish attack from Florida. Today we prepared for our Christmas. If you know Carol “Christmas is her favorite time of year”! Carol’s birthday is Christmas Day so there is double joy! We spent the Christmas Eve morning shopping at our little local store and because it was cloudy, we polished the outside of the Airstream! Every year at home, we make an enormous amount of Christmas cookies. We had to try to make them in the Airstream. Arrived, Borrego Springs, CA

We have arrived in Borrego Springs, California! Borrego Springs is a small desert town between San Diego and Palm Springs. We are a minimum of at least 30 minutes from the next town. Borrego Springs sits in the center of Anzo-Borrego Desert State Park. Borrego Springs has one of the lowest COVID rates in California and for that we are glad!The center of the town is Christmas Circle, a large traffic circle.
