We have read many reviews that City of Rocks State Park is a must see while in New Mexico.  To get to City of Rocks the drive is through typical desert land with a few rolling hills of desert.  We crested one of these hills and in the distance saw City of Rocks, sitting in the middle of a vast desert plain!  It was mesmerizing!We stayed 4 days at City of Rocks and loved it because each site is unique and very private from other RVs/campers.  Each site is nestled among the rocks that make up the state park.  There…

Brushy Mountain State Pen!

We left Richmond on Thursday, spent the night in Wytheville, VA then headed to Melton Dam State Park outside of Knoxville.  Our site was a challenge due to it being on the edge of the road with just enough space for the Airstream and monster truck! We had the Airstream perfectly situated and realized the hookups were too far away!  So we had to maneuver again in a very narrow area....Our destination for this stop was Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary for a tour!  Brushy Mountain State Pen operated from 1896 - 2009 and housed the most dangerous men in TN.…

Big Bend/Rio Grande Video

Wind Caves and Updates

The Wind Caves are in the Carrizo Badlands on the far east side of the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park.  To access this area you travel on Fish Creek Road, a sand/rock passage about 4 miles. Wind caves are sandstone formations with wind-eroded pockets!  There is a hike to the wind caves, one that is well hidden and it took a few hours to find it!  We had to fly the drone to understand how to get to the trail!  Needless to say, it was too late to start the hike but we saw the caves from the air and the…
