Bryce, eBikes, hiking and the Rodeo!

We spent the day in Bryce Canyon riding eBikes, hiking and spent the evening at the Rodeo!  We rented eBikes from “Outta Here eBikes located on Route 12 about a mile from Bryce.  The rental process was easy and off we went!  The bikes were Rad Power eBikes.  They were “pedal assist” with 4 levels of assistance.  They were remarkably easy to ride and most of all FUN!  We rode through Red Canyon on the paved bike route.  A beautiful area.  We had rented the bikes for 8 hours but the seats were truly the hardest bike seats I have…

Hole in the Rock Overnight

Just outside of Escalante UT there is a road that is 58 miles long that makes it’s way to the Northwest side of Lake Powell; Hole in the Rock.  The road is a dirt road with the last 10 miles consisting of a true 4WD experience!  The trek took us past some amazing sights.  Chimney Rock, Dance Hall Rock and several slot canyon hikes….but our mission was to get to the end and see the famous “Hole in the Rock”.  Hole in the Rock is on the National Register of Historic Places.  In short, this was the passage of Mormon…

Devil’s Garden

The Escalante area is amazing with forests, deserts, slot canyons and incredible rock formations.  We visited Devil’s Garden and were we surprised at the beauty.  I just noticed that many cool areas have the word “Devil” in their names.  Oh well, if the devil was here he left it in perfect condition! 😉 We spent several hours here among the hoodoos and finally were able to fly the drone.  Just like everything else, some abusers of drones have done dumb things and now there are so many restricted areas fun drone spots are hard to find.  🤬We are working on our…

Petrified Forest National Park

Many years ago, as a child my Aunt and Uncle drove from Bloomington, IL on Route 66 west with the destination of the Grand Canyon.  On the journey one of their planned stops was the Petrified Forest.  When they arrived home, one of my gifts from the trip was a piece of petrified wood!  Their trip sounded amazing and I always wanted to visit that special place.   When we left Albuquerque we planned a visit to the Petrified Forest.  Carol had visited this national park several years ago, but I had no idea what it would be like.  I…
