Verde Canyon Train & Grand Canyon

We have decided to spend the next 9 days in the Sedona area.  On Thursday we went on the Verde Canyon Train which explored the Verde River and remote canyon.  The  tracks were built early 20th century to haul copper from Jerome where one of the largest copper mines in the world was located.  It was a fun outing, https://www.legendsofamerica.com/az-jerome/On Friday we took a daytrip to visit the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.  When we got there a rush of nostalgia overcame us from when we hiked rim-to-rim and from when we rafted 8 days on the Colorado.  We truly…

Kayaking, Toadstools and a Horseshoe!

Milestone: 2 Months on the Road! While in Lake Powell we stayed at Wahweap Campground and this was one of our favorites.  The sites are spread apart and staggered so the views were of the lake and buttes. We were able to get a tour of lower Antelope Canyon via kayak. (In 2016 we toured upper Antelope Canyon, we will include a couple pictures from that trip in the gallery, it is amazing). Lots of exploring, very little cell service!

We are sitting overlooking Lake Powell and Page, AZ as this is the only place we both have enough cell service to update the website!  We have been at Wahweap Campground on Lake Powell since Monday.We have continued to enjoy 4WD dirt roads of Paria Canyon where the colors were amazing and the Vermillion Cliffs area.  We also did a day trip to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and Lees Ferry; both very nostalgic from when we hiked rim-to-rim in 2016 and when we rafted the Colorado 267+ miles through the Grand Canyon in 2014.  While there we…
