Bryce Canyon Hike

Bryce Canyon National Park never disappoints!  Five years ago we visited Bryce and experienced the Canyon via horseback.  This visit, we experienced the canyon on foot; WOW!  Walking in the canyon among the hoodoos and colors is simply spectacular. The featured picture is near the end of the hike on the Navajo Loop and from the bottom looking up it was a CRAZY sight and a CRAZY climb!  Every turn in this canyon is like a fantasy land with tunnels, tight walls, beautiful shapes. Capitol Reef National Park

It has been a busy and beautiful couple of days!  On Tuesday 9/22 we left Green River State Park and drove to Hanksville UT and stayed at Duke's Slickrock RV Park that was centered between Capitol Reef NP and Goblins Valley State Park.  Capitol Reef - This park is the least visited of the 5 Utah national parks.  There is no lodge and very few hotels in the area. Capitol Reef became a national monument in 1937 and a national park in 1971.  The populated area of the park is named Fruita Historic District and includes the Petroglyph Panel, Visitor Center…

Canyonlands, Boondocking and More

We have been off the grid for several days...no power, water or cell service (except occasionally when driving)!  We have been exploring Monument Valley, Needles area of Canyonlands National Park and Natural Bridge National Monument.  At our last campground, Needles Outpost, when we were checking in, Carol asked if there were any dangers with regards to animals...the owner said, “nay, there is a badger in one of the sites and scorpions but nothing to worry about”!  Well Carol’s head snapped around and I thought we were going to have to leave, but the owner put her mind at ease by…
