Arrived in CO! Trinidad State Park

Spent the last 2 days at Corral Drive In RV Park in Guymon, OK.  Very nice park; the town was a bit dismal but we were able to do some housekeeping (laundry, truck washing, etc.).   Today we arrived in Colorado, Trinidad Lake State Park.  Our site has views of the lake and we love this park.   The ranger on duty, suggested a drive through Cordova Pass, elevation 11,248 ft. Boiling Springs State Park, OK

Spent last night at Boiling Springs State Park, OK.  The park is known for it’s several springs throughout the park. We took a walk through the largest spring area and were greeted by an armadillo!  We are continuing our trek to Colorado.  Oklahoma is long, dry, hot and flat.  We can drive for miles and only see an occasional farm.  Very different than the east coast! Tonight we are staying at “Drive-In” movie RV park....I have a feeling it will be great or dismal! 🤣

When the Civil War started, the tribe became divided and non-Indians began moving into the area illegally. In fact, this section of…

Petit Jean State Park, Arkansas

We arrived at Petit Jean State Park yesterday.  This is a gorgeous state park, huge sites and on a lake.  The park is located between the Ozark and Ouachita mountain ranges. The mountain received its name from the legend of Petit Jean a story of a French girl that disguised herself as a boy and secretly accompanied her sweetheart, a sailor, to America. The hike we wanted to do, is closed due to a storm that knocked down 400+ trees!  The closure doesn’t really matter as we are socked in with rain all day.  This is to be expected we…
