Eagle!

Well, even in downtown Richmond wildlife can be found!Over the past 13 years we have marveled over the Eagles that are on the James River.  Last summer Dominion Power had a helicopter, dropping workers onto the power tower and they installed the brass (I think brass) spikes to keep the birds off the towers!  Well, Dominion is not as smart as the Eagles; they still land in the middle! 🤣Moving/Sale update:Packing has started and the condo looks like a war zone!   Movers come on the 3rd!  Good thing, buyer has purchased all furniture!  All we need to move are…

Palm Canyon Trail

Milestone: We have been on the road for 4 months!Borrego Springs is located in the center of the Anza-Borrego State Park.  One of the most popular hikes is Palm Canyon. The hike takes you to the 3rd largest native palm grove in the state of California.  We were fortunate to be able to experience this hike and special palm oasis.  This palm grove had a devastating fire and the palm canopy was destroyed all that remained were tall black charred sticks.  Due to the fire the hike had been closed until last month when miraculously the palm canopy grew back…

The state park is small, but we really enjoyed it; given we felt we had the best site in the park! Just up the road, is the Bill Williams River Wildlife Refuge.  This area offers a short hike down a…

Alamo Lake State Park

When we left Organ Pipe National Monument we headed to Alamo Lake State Park.  The park features a 26 sq. mile lake, wild burros and many, many quail!   The road to the park is over 30 miles from the main road!  There are lots of exploring opportunities at this park and you are able to get off the beaten path on dirt roads through BLM land.  We were able to fly the drone on some dirt roads to get shots of the lake.   We saw our first wild burros on the road from the visitor center!  The burros…
