The release of Rocky the Loggerhead Sea Turtle!

This week we are sharing the release of a 220-pound loggerhead sea turtle from the Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach …. What an exciting moment!Like all sea turtle species, loggerhead turtles face many threats that impact their population.  For over three decades, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center has been committed to the rehabilitation of sick and injured sea turtles. It’s awful to think some of the injuries are caused by humans, like the entanglement of fishline, prop strikes from boats and ingesting plastic bags.We were excited to witness her release back to the ocean. Badlands National Park & so much more!

We left Custer State Park and headed to Badlands National Park!  Wall DrugThis is a “fun” place to visit…everything from country western clothing to novelty items, food and an actual drug store! Custer State Park! Wow!

We spent a week exploring Custer State Park! This state park seemed more like a national park than a state park with majestic pastures, lakes and crazy rock formations. Our first outing we drove the wildlife loop and we hit the jackpot! The Custer Buffalo Herd were putting on a spectacular show! We watched these beautiful beasts for a long time, then continued on the loop to see prong horns, turkey and prairie dogs. Next, we drove the Needles Road to the Neddles Eye Tunnel to experience squeezing our monster truck through the tiny tunnel! We witnessed a tour bus…

One week in the Lake Louise Area!

*This video was filmed in mid-August. After two weeks in Banff, we moved to our next destination in the Canadian Rockies, Lake Louise. The drive from Banff was stunning, with sweeping views of the bow river and glacial mountains. We spent a week in Lake Louise at Lake Louise Hard Sided Campground in Banff National Park.  During our stay we explored Lake Louise, Moraine Lake, Takakkaw Falls (in Yoho National Park) and Natural Bridge.
