This video we take you on an off road journey on the Smith Dorrien Trail also known as Highway 742 outside of Canmore, Alberta, Canada.This rural drive is remote and has some spectacular scenery! We spent time at Spray Lake saw big horn sheep, a bear and an eagle! Our First Grizzly & Johnston Canyon Hike!

We left Glacier National Park for a destination of Banff National Park, Alberta Canada. We completed our ArriveCAN app and were ready for the border! The border crossing was a non-event and we were so glad, having heard stories of being detained for searches.We drove through a section of Canada that seemed to be a high plateau area, no mountains in site. Once we got onto Route 1 we could start to see the Canadian Rockies in the distance. What a site. Glacier National Park!

We spent two weeks in Glacier National Park. The first week we stayed in Hungry Horse just outside of the west entrance of the park. One of the main attractions of Glacier is “Going to the Sun” Road. Going to the Sun Road goes from the Apgar West entrance to the St. Mary East entrance. Two Days in Sequoia National Park!

After leaving the California Coast we headed East to Sequoia National Park. The park suffered last year from the KNP Complex Fire and many areas were closed for months. The firefighters actually wrapped General Sherman and many other sequoias with aluminum fire resistant blankets to protect them from the fires. As many as 2,300 giant sequoias burned to death or are expected to die as a result from the fire. This fire was caused by a severe lightning storm.
