We have wanted to hike this trail since we first came Escalante UT last year. We scoped out the trail on Route 12 from above with the drone and then the next day got to the trailhead at 7:30am to beat the crowds and heat.
The hike is an interesting and fun hike with so many varied views. The trial is a mix of slickrock, sand and hard packed surfaces. When we started the hike the temperatures were around 60 degrees and when we finished about 95!
At just over 7 miles and we highly recommend this hike! After the hike we changed clothes and headed to Kiva Koffehouse for a treat!

Travel Update:
We have just a few more days in Utah! Tuesday we head to Colorado with a stop in Cortez and then on Friday we arrive in Durango for the “4 Corners Airstream Rally”! We already have a Jeep Adventure planned for the Red Mountains for an entire day! Much more to come!
Top that water fall : ) , I think not” what a wonder out there to see, looks like the hike was a real challenge, how do you all do these hikes , perseverance is key , you have that covered very well.
In completing the hike’ shows you are doing well which is great too see
The water filter they say is a lifesaver if needed’ glad to know your doing things safely.
So adventures continue a blessing to see” thanks for sharing and another one of the places to see as I retire in the next year or so

Pretty hike but no fan of the sand either! Bet that pool beneath the falls felt fantastic. Did Colleen end up getting her half of the muffin… LOL. That was a very cool looking place to enjoy a treat!!
The sand was a pain, but I found just walk flat, don’t dig in. Yeah I got my half of the muffin!🤣
