Today we beat the heat by attending an in person class at the Kimball Art Center in Park City, Utah. (Park City was the venue of the 2002 Winter Olympics.) While we were in Moab, we were investigating the possibilities in the Heber Valley. Carol found this art class: Painting Zion with Cindy Briggs.
This class peaked our interest since we were just at Zion National Park last month. Our class was well organized and our project for the day was a mountain scene from Zion. We started with basic shapes of shadows, methodically moving from shape to shape. Cindy, our instructor was a very effective teacher by actually painting each process and then following through with each person. In just a couple hours we had “ok” watercolors! The class consisted of 8 participants and each, although very different, created very nice paintings.
Travel Update
We are still in Heber City, UT and will remain here until 7/29. We have started learning Pickleball and most mornings we are doing a nature walk near Midway, UT, just 10 minutes away. We are also along one of the best brown trout rivers in UT…the Provo River. Tomorrow we are venturing out to throw some flies! Next week we are going out with a guide to brush up on our fly fishing skills and learn the river!
Enjoy our works of art and as always, comments are always appreciated.
