We left Durango with a destination of Glacier National Park…1000 miles! We stopped in Helper, UT and stayed at Castle Gate RV Park. The town was as cute as it could be with antique cars and to our surprise it is an art community! We sure enjoyed this little laid back town in rural Utah.
Our next stop was Heber City, UT. We stayed at Mountain Valley RV Resort (we had stayed here 3 weeks last year and loved it). While in the area we needed to get the truck ready for Canada….we decided that after 50,000 miles we should get new tires especially after all the off-roaring we do! While in Heber City we visited one of our favorite little towns, Midway. We had a nice dinner outside at The Mercantile. With the truck all serviced we were ready to continue our trek north!
We continued North to a Harvest Host, the Museum of Clean in Pocatello Idaho! This was a very unique museum dedicated to the art of “cleaning”! Started by Don Aslett who has authored 40 books and taught 6,000 seminars all relating to the topic of “clean”! There are exhibits of washing machines, dental cleaning, bathroom cleaning, Brushes, soaps, chimney cleaning and over 250 vintage vacuum cleaners….over 5 floors of interesting displays!
Our final stop before Glacier National Park was another Harvest Host, Old Works Golf Course in Anaconda MT. Anaconda is known for its history of Copper Smelting. The smelting ended in the 1980’s and that is when the EPA designated the area as a clean up site….part of the restoration was the creation of the Jack Nicholas designed golf course, Old Works! Our next stop…. Glacier National Park
Enjoy the Video!
Next week we will take you on our Glacier National Park Adventures!
My Mom would have loved that museum, Clean was her thing! I brought a friend home once and when they asked what my mom said, I said she said you looked “clean”. Clean???? I told them that that was big! Not cute, pretty, nice….but clean! Ha!
Wow, you gals definitely covered some territory! Totally fascinated by the Museum of Clean…all those vacuum cleaners! Loved that you found your Mom’s models. Not sure about that hair drier feature. Happy you have new tires, glad to know my pals are truckin’ safely!!
That museum was a hoot! We saw Don the founder. He was there…although now he is in his upper 80’s!
