Ft. Lauderdale: Bonnet House Museum & Gardens

While visiting friends in Ft. Lauderdale we toured Bonnet House Museum & Gardens and visited Pompano Beach/Pier.

The Bonnet House Museum & Gardens was the home of Frederic Clay & Evelyn Bartlett. Built in the 1920’s, today the Bonnet House is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

In 1983 Evelyn Bartlett deeded the property to the Florida Trust for Historic Preservation. Today the property is open to the public and offers self guided tours as well as guided tours.

The Bonnet home looked like a nice day visit place with some real art , statuettes, the chandelier’ to see throughout, I thought the painted ceramic tiles were neat and how they framed the window with them.
The pier wildlife what a hoot, what type of pelicans were they? Looked like they would pick your pockets if they had a chance.
Nice vid once again always selections which behooves me how you all find these gems.. we to will Visit as I am keeping a record for our present and future travels

Going to have to take a trip down the highway to visit this museum. Very interesting and beautiful. Have never been to the Pompano Pier, adding that to our list too!
