Wines of San Juan, NM (Harvest Hosts)

Arrived at Wines of San Juan a member of Harvest Hosts.  As we drove in were greeted by peacocks!  Once parked we hurried to have a wine tasting!  We settled on their 2014 Tribulation Reserve, a dry red; the grapes were grown on the property and produced on the property.   The vineyard is delightful with eclectic furnishings…we met one of the owners…it has been a super experience!

The vineyard is located in the San Juan River Valley and they have won international awards for wine making.

We flew the drone for some overhead pictures!  Tomorrow we are heading out early for Utah.

Wow, that is so exciting about your grandchild! Congratulations! We are looking forward to Utah, we blasted through Bryce and Zion a few years ago but that was it.

I had not heard about the Harvest Hosts. Seems like a really great group of RV places to stay. This one in particular looks very sweet. Love the drone pictures! You might already have this app but for the Bureau of Land Mgmt land in Utah there are quite a few “boon docking” places to stay. The app is BoonDocking and gives pretty good directions to these free areas to camp. Next time you have a rainy day, show some pictures of the inside of the Airsteam. Looks like a very comfortable RV.
    Stay Safe!

Never been in that area – looks like a great place. Re Utah, it may be in a different direction than you’re heading, but if you can fit it in, Route 14 between Cedar City and Alton through Dixie National Forest is just stunning this time of year – Lake Navajo, Duck Creek/Aspen Mirror Lake, lava beds. If you go, drive out to Strawberry Point! Haven’t been there since I left Vegas – miss the annual fall trip! Wherever you go, it will be beautiful. Be safe and keep having fun!

San Juan is quality water for fly fishing. One of the premier rivers in the south. Still on my bucket list. I’m working my way thru the great fly fishing rivers in New Mexico. Rivers fished to date: Pecos, Cimarron and Chama. So many more to go! 🙂

We stayed almost on the river! I have my fly fishing gear, but didn’t really know anything about that river until yesterday…wish I had.
