Hanging out at Airstream Factory Service Center

We are in Jackson Center, OH at the Airstream Factory Service Center, upgrading our battery power to Lithium Batteries. The work was not completed today so we are staying one more day. The good thing, they have a small campground on the property for service customers. No big deal, we needed a down day to recover from the hectic departure! Because of Covid, the Airstream Factory tours have been discontinued...oh well.We should be moving on tomorrow or early Wednesday.

Long Day, Finally on the Road!

We hooked up and hit the road at 9:40pm! Preparing the condo for a year long trip took much, much longer than we thought; lesson learned. We were determined to meet our departure goal of 8/22.The good news: We Launched and are on our way!

Today has been exhausting. We have packed and repacked, moved all non-essentials to our storage area in the building; every inch of space has been used. We then loaded the truck and went to Cat Scales to get weighed....we are over the desired weight, now we have to unpack the truck and remove some "stuff". Tomorrow, cleaning condo and we hope to leave by 2pm. Tomorrow is a short driving day...only 4 hours.

Saturday, August 22nd we will be starting our year long trip! We have been planning this adventure for several years. Over the last 9 months we have been executing the steps to make this adventure come true.December 20th - Purchased our Airstream at Colonial Airstream. Caravel 20FBJanuary 6th - Purchased our Toyota Tundra.February 27th - Traveled to New Jersey to pick up our Airstream from Colonial.March, April, May, June, July - Covid-19!August - Sold last rental property, retired! Ready to Launch!
