Custer State Park! Wow!

We spent a week exploring Custer State Park! This state park seemed more like a national park than a state park with majestic pastures, lakes and crazy rock formations. Our first outing we drove the wildlife loop and we hit the jackpot! The Custer Buffalo Herd were putting on a spectacular show! We watched these beautiful beasts for a long time, then continued on the loop to see prong horns, turkey and prairie dogs. 4 Stops in Southeastern Utah!

When we left Moab we started our trek to Durango Colorado! We made several stops along the way:1. Valley of the Gods - a 17 mile loop near Mexican Hat, Utah.  A beautiful ride through vibrant red rock!2. Gooseneck State Park - towers 100’ above the San Juan River.  The river meanders through 6 miles of curves but only travels about 1.5 miles closer to Lake Powell!3. 5 Moab Adventures!

After leaving Capitol Reef we headed to Moab. We were lucky to score a campsite at Dead Horse Point State Park near Canyonlands National Park. 3 Days in the Capitol Reef National Park Area!

We left Escalante, UT and one of our favorite campgrounds, Yonder Escalante. We headed up Highway 12 to Torrey, UT just outside of Capitol Reef National Park.  Our 1st night we stayed at a Harvest Host, Etta Place Cider.  Of course we had to do a tasting and what an interesting experience!  We tried a variety of hard ciders ranging from Rhubarb Peach Wine to Etta Place Gingered!  We also had Reserve Fig Mead a desert cider….We left with Rhubarb Peach and the Reserve Fig Mead!  See the link below:Etta Place CiderWe have been wanting to do some “real” boondocking on…
