In this video we explore Valdez Alaska; Switzerland of Alaska! We watched the bears feed on salmon and toured the Solomon Gulch Hatchery, the largest single-species hatchery in North America! We also went on a wildlife/glacier tour on the Lu-Lu Belle to Columbia Glacier with sightings of whale, mountain goats, puffin and sea lions. At Columbia Glacier we piloted through an iceberg field to get up close to the glacier. Our next adventure: an epic canoe tour with Alaska-Guide Co. on a glacial lake created by the Valdez Glacier. We canoed between hundreds of icebergs and actually floated in iceberg…

THIS WEEKThis week we traveled to the east side of the Kenai Peninsula, with an overnight stop in Moose Pass, then on to Seward where we explored Kenai Fjords National Park.SEWARDSeward is a port city along the beautiful coast of Resurrection Bay. We had a campsite overlooking the bay and mountains! We enjoyed walking along the waterfront seeing eagles, especially this one being chased by seagulls, and watching salmon in the streams.Getting around Seward is very easy. Today we celebrate 3 years on the road! We left Richmond during the pandemic thinking we would travel around for about a year and here we are….3 years later and we are in Alaska! This has been such a great three years….and the past 3 months in Canada and Alaska have been better than we ever could have imagined!
