Hoover Dam, Lake Mead and a Stunning Rail Trail

We spent a week in Boulder City, NV; the town was made for the workers that built the Hoover Dam.  Boulder City does not have any casinos by design!  Boulder City was our base for exploring Lake Mead and Hoover Dam.

In this video we explore Hoover Dam, Lake Mead and ride a stunning rail trail to Hoover Dam! Hoover Dam impounds Lake Mead and is located near Boulder City, Nevada, a municipality originally constructed for workers on the construction project, about 30 mi south-east of Las Vegas, Nevada. The dam’s generators provide power for public and private utilities in Nevada, Arizona, and California. We rode the Historic Railroad Trail, the only remaining section of the Hoover Dam railroad system and features incredible vistas of Lake Mead, mountain settings and has five enormous tunnels.

Join us as we take you on a journey around this amazing american landmark.

Enjoy the Video!

We are hanging in Heber City, UT waiting as a storm passes the Sierra Nevada Mountains where they are expecting 18” of snow and high winds!

Once the storm passes we will be starting our journey north to Vancouver BC!
