Gambel’s quail! Now that we are done moving...we are back to some leisure activity! We saw Gambel’s Quail throughout Arizona and Southern California. They are relatively small ground-dwelling birds. They gather in low bushy and cactus-studded areas to feed.
We have been editing a great video of a trip to the “Mud Caves”. We had over an hour of footage along with photos. We hope to have it completed tonight or early tomorrow. Meantime, here is a watercolor of a winter scene, one that we do not see in Southern California!Stand by!
This was inspired by a picture Carol saw from Instagram. I like to draw/paint in the evenings and many times I don’t have anything that pops into my mind as a reference; that is when Carol finds me something! Getting this scene in perspective was a real challenge; don’t look too close!
